Unable to continue past Clock purchase

Hi! Downloaded Gardenscapes and GS Mansion Makeover free from GameTop - that said it was free and could be played anytime from your computer - implicating that you do NOT need to be " Signed In or On Line" in order to play; have reviewed Tips and tricks you suggested; all drivers are up to date; running on win8 Next book; have tried with and with out Firewall and Antivirus;......can't think of what else I've tried, but I have over $50k and can't get past the Clock purchase :( I get a dark screen then an error about "gamewrap.exe has stopped working ". Once my game disappears I am left with one of my Browser windows open with a msg saying I have lost connection - pls re-connect?!? I am totally out ideas and would really like to continue one of these days....any suggestions?
